Reverend Canon Winston Joseph

A native of Trinidad and Tobago, The Rev. Canon Winston B. Joseph is the Rector of St. Patrick’s Church, West Palm Beach.

At age 9, young Winston was granted a choral scholarship to attend the Trinity College, Port of Spain, Trinidad. He attended services at Trinity Cathedral, where he was encouraged to become a chorister, an acolyte, would eventually become Head Server.

Canon Joseph graduated from Trinity College having received the University of Cambridge Advanced Level Certificate with distinctions.

In 1968, he entered Codrington College, Barbados to pursue theological studies.   Having graduated in 1971, he proceeded to the United Theological College, Mona, Jamaica, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) degree.

His first assignment was at All Saints Anglican Church, Port of Spain, Trinidad. After serving as a young Curate for seven years, he was appointed Rector of this parish, which, at that time served approximately 2,500 families. Fr. Joseph was at that time also serving on several school and other Boards, and later was appointed an Independent Senator in the Parliament. In 2000, Canon Joseph was called to be Rector of St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church in West Palm Beach, Florida.

While at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church, Canon Joseph continues a hectic schedule with his involvement in community-related efforts — on the Mayor’s Advisory Council, as a board member of P.E.A.C.E, member of the NCCI, the West Palm Beach Clergy Alliance, as well as many clergy committees.

Canon Joseph is married to Moilan, and they have two children and a granddaughter.
